Hong Kong Essentials

Hong Kong is one of my favourite places to fly to eat, drink and chill in the holidays and a city I travel most often to, so I thought jotting down some memories and sharing with you my take on what a worthy trip to Hong Kong consists of with a guide on the essentials - where to go, do, eat and some travelling tips along the way.

Travelling tip #1
You've just landed into Hong Kong International Airport, grabbed your luggage and ready to start exploring...what's the first item on your "must buy" list? Head to the Airport Express MTR Station and grab an Octopus Card

It's a prepaid tap-and-go smartcard which pays for public transport on the MTR metro, buses, trams, ferries and coaches, as well as some taxis + convenience stores (Seven Eleven), supermarkets, many cafés and fast food outlets as well as Hong Kong's beloved pastry shops. It makes life so much easier (without the embarrassment of fumbling coins for trams or buses) and quicker without having to rush to learn a new currency (although yes that's definitely a fun part of travelling)!
