It was my first time to Christchurch and we went on a road trip to Lake Tekapo which is about 3 hours drive away from Christchurch. When we arrived there, it was 10pm. and everything is dark. we can't see around clearly.
However, when we woke up next day, everything changed.
everything looked so different to Sydney.
The view landing into Christchurch airport is so beautiful and you get to enjoy the picturesque view of the mountains and lakes above the skies. I am not sure what mountain is this but I found that the view from our plane made it one of the best airport landings I have experienced so far. Forget about the aisle seat when you travel to Christchurch, get the window seat man!
There are many "wow" moments when you are a perpetual traveller. At the time, the only word from our mouths, just WOW...
There was a Japanese restaurant in a nearby town with views over the lake. It was a bizarre and unexpected juxtaposition but it made me very happy to enjoy one of my favourite cuisines with one of my newly found favourite views. We then returned to a look out point where a small chapel sat looking over Lake Tekapo.
One of the activities that I find it interesting that you can do here is stargazing. According to reviews, the Mt John Observatory in Lake Tekapo is one of the world’s best places to star gaze.
We only stay at lake Tekapo for one day, but it still gave us lots of memories. The sky, the snow, the water, the late.
